		<description>hi elliott.

looking forward to meeting at the lab. i'm fascinated by the extend of this rebirth and the humanitarian applications of it ... i've been reading around ideas of open source design lately. most recently, i locked onto open source architecture, championed by architects for humanity via the open architecture network. in this era of iconic buildings designed by starchitects (even though i really love them), it's so refreshing to see an approach to a vernacular or popular architecture that puts liveability and living standards over copyright. there's also a great array of diy tools available online that helps people design and collaborate. it's really simple isn't it - in a time when there are so many different kinds of need, motivation, intent and desire, there needs to be a multiplicity of intellectual property management methods.

here's the website for oan - http://www.openarchitecturenetwork.org/

cheers. linda</description>
